Is guided meditation for me?

The best way to answer that question is to try it for yourself. So if you felt any benefit from the quick guided meditation above, the beach session is a very good one to start with as most of us have felt incredibly relaxed on a beach at some point in our lives, then yes – guided meditation is for you.

In fact, I have found through the years I have been learning all about our wonderful brain and how to harness its full power through meditation that meditation can be useful to everyone. How useful it is really depends on you and how much you believe it can change your own perception of self and the world around you. I know, sounding really geeky again, it is true though. As we look through history from the beginning of time we see multiple uses of meditation through religion (e.g. Kabbalah , Buddhism to name just a couple) and of course mediation as a part of self growth as referenced in The Secret (the Law of attraction)

So, whatever your aim. If you want meditation to help you relax and be calm or to be the beginning of your new journey and self growth to achieve your aspirations the only real way of knowing if it is for you is to try it out.

The Flower and Paper Exercise

This exercise works on quite a few levels, Firstly, your subconscious can see much more than you conscious mind – wont tell you too much but the pictures really do tell a thousand words!

Secondly, we can (when we let ourselves) find calmness and positivity in almost anything. Part of making Mental Core Training work for you is to understand this simple concept. Meditation can work in so many different ways. Guided meditations can deliver value in many different ways – this one opens your mind to understand that you can, when you look hard enough, always find something positive.

This exercise is really based on Mindfulness practices. It is a really positive experience and its success depends on you allowing it to work for you in a positive way.

The power of positive thinking.

What you can learn from this guided meditation is that attaining a more positive mindset can be as easy as you let it be. You can find the positive energy in a sunflower or a crumpled piece of paper if you allow yourself to.

Notice the terminology being used – allow yourself, as easy as you let it be – this is the real secret to enabling a positive mind, you have to first desire it and then allow yourself to attain it.

Sounds really simple, however, sometimes our mind and literally have a mind of its own (that would be your subconscious) and if it is not aligned to your way of thinking or if it is hanging onto the negatives past or preconditioned to doubt you and your abilities it can hold you back and keep you in that negative thought loop.

Get your swerve on, feel good

Get your swerve on is a slightly different kind of guided meditation. It is fast paced and includes anchoring (An NLP concept).

It works on a basic principle that your brain has the ability to create all of the positive neurological and physical chemical reactions by absorbing itself in a moment generated from memory. In short, if you allow yourself to imagine yourself being in that positive moment in your life, you brain (as incredible as it is) does not know that you are not really there experiencing all of the wonderful experiences again.

Positive NLP anchoring.

Positive anchors are part of the way we store information. Our memories generally are more than just a picture, a smell or a sound. They tend to encompass all of our senses and then, most importantly for anchoring, they allow us to access how we felt in that moment as well.

Obviously this works both ways, negative experiences can be triggered by negative anchors and result in us feeling anxious or defeated before we have even begun. Mental Core Training uses guided meditation and exercises to enable you to both harness you past positive experiences and control the impact of the experiences that we know we would like to improve.

Mental Core Training also uses the future as an anchor, by getting you to experience what it will be like when you achieve that goal or aspiration. Relax Me – Mental Core Training Sample

Relax Me is a really good sample of how the Mental Core Training guided meditations are delivered. First you are taken through the 3 layers of consciousnesses and then your are guided to the sessions outcome.

This is a passive session, meaning it just delvers relaxation from the experience. The other MCT guided mediations follow the same process however they are ‘Progressive’ meaning they enable you to positively move towards your chosen outcomes/goals/objectives.

The key is that the Mental Core Training guided meditations enable you to access a mental state where both your conscious mind and your sub-conscious mind work together as you decide your own positive outcome.
